Maurice Berkman
Bio

Maurice is a partner at Galicia and co-head of the Capital Markets and Corporate Finance practice groups. He works closely with the Firm’s Energy, M&A and Tax practice areas in securities and financing transactional work.

He advises clients on lending and capital markets transactions and securities regulation and has represented companies and investment banks in domestic and cross-border equity and debt offerings, tender offers and securitizations, as well as borrowers and lenders in domestic and cross-border financings.

He is secretary of the board of directors of several Mexican companies, where he applies his knowledge and expertise in corporate governance and securities regulatory compliance.

Maurice has experience in multiple industry sectors, including hospitality, entertainment, financial services, retail and real estate. He holds a Law degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho and a Master of Laws degree from Northwestern University School of Law. He also obtained a Certificate in Business Administration from the J.L.

KelloggGraduate School of Management. He worked as foreign associate at Clifford Chance’s office in New York.

Due to his experience, technical knowledge and recognition by his clients and peers, Chambers and Partners recognized him as an expert lawyer in the Capital Markets practice.

Maurice is member of the Galicia’s New Collaboration Model Committee.
