Bio
Ignacio is a leading corporate lawyer who does not like to stay on the sidelines. As co-leader of Galicia’s market-leading M&A practice, he is primarily focused on supporting clients in M&A, private equity, real estate, and general corporate matters.
For over 20 years, Ignacio has worked closely with private equity funds and companies on their institutionalization processes, capital raising and in general corporate finance issues.
Ignacio’s entrepreneurial approach and his interest in his clients’ business has led him to be an active member of various boards of directors of public and private companies, as well as non-profit organizations.
Consistent with his constant curiosity and entrepreneurial mindset, Ignacio attended the senior management program at IPADE and obtained a Master of Laws at New York University. In addition, he was approved to practice law in the State of New York, an authorization which he later relinquished.
Ignacio is the only Mexican on the M&A Law Committee of the International Bar Association and in his capacity as Special Projects Officer, he participates recurrently in international forums focused on the practice of mergers and acquisitions and private equity.
His career has been recognized by different international publications. Chambers and Partners highlights his technical knowledge and the recognition of his clients and peers. Recently, The Legal 500 named him “Leading Individual” in the M&A practice; and the French publication Leaders League listed him “Leading” in the same practice area.
Ignacio also has affinity for academia and regularly participates as a guest professor in the Executive MBA at the Tec de Monterrey in Mexico City and the Cátedra Galicia of the Universidad Panamericana Law School. He is committed to the professional development of the new generations in the Firm and an active speaker on Galicia’s professional development programs.
He is member of the Galicia’s Business Development Committee.
