Bio
Juan Pablo is counsel at Galicia. His professional practice is focused on banking and finance, M&A, international trade and general corporate matters.
In addition, and in accordance with his mandate of promoting Galicia’s domestic and international presence, he is member of various business and trade related associations.
In such capacity, Juan Pablo is president of the Mexico-US Bilateral Committee of the Mexican Council of Foreign Trade (COMCE), as well as Vice President of the Mexico-Canada Bilateral Committee of such association. He also presides the International Trade Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CANCHAM) in Mexico as well as being member of the Board of Directors of this organization.
Juan Pablo has advised various associations in relevant aspects of multilateral trade agreements such as the Pacific Alliance and participated in the “Cuarto de Junto” during the NAFTA renegotiation. He is part of the Firm´s Asia Desk and regularly participates as speakers in forums throughout Mexico and Latin America regarding international trade agreements and investment.
Intent on furthering Pro Bono activities, Juan Pablo is member of the Firm´s Pro Bono Committee as well as member of the board of an international Pro Bono association.
He obtained his Law Degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho (Mexico City), and an LL.M. from Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.). He worked as foreign associate at Dechert’s Washington, D.C. office.
