Bio
Juan Luis is an associate in the Administrative Litigation practice of Galicia Abogados since 2022. As a specialist and passionate about constitutional law, his work focuses on writ of amparo and administrative and regulatory proceedings.
Prior to joining Galicia Abogados, he worked as Law Clerk in the Federal Judiciary, specifically for both Justices José Ramón Cossío Díaz and Alfredo Gutiérrez Ortiz Mena at the Mexican Supreme Court.
Born and raised in Cortazar, Guanajuato, he earned his law degree with honors at the University of Guanajuato (2016) and a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from Columbia University in the City of New York (2022).
He has been invited to be professor of constitutional law and writ of amparo in some of the most prestigious universities in Mexico, such as the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), among others. His academic work has been published in a variety of national and international books and law reviews. He is author of the book Supreme Court and Dialogic Constitutionalism. A survey on judges and democracy in Mexico (Tirant lo Blanch, 2019).
