Bio
Andrés joined Galicia Abogados in 2015 as a junior associate in the Customs and International Trade practice of the Firm.
He has over 11 years of experience advising domestic and international clients on import and export regulations, legal strategies to import goods and services using the legal framework provided in Mexico and at the international level.
Andrés has ample experience advising clients on their e-commerce operations within Mexico, as well as advising them on international trade aspects related to M&A, energy, oil & gas, and infrastructure projects.
He also has expertise representing domestic and foreign clients in lawsuits and legal claims arising from customs and tax assessments imposed by Mexican authorities, obtaining outstanding results arguing violations to GATT and its agreements.
Before joining Galicia Abogados, he collaborated from 2010 to 2015 at Chevez, Ruiz, Zamarripa y Cia, S.C. as a senior lawyer in the foreign trade practice area.
Andrés graduated at law at Universidad Interamericana para el Desarrollo (Anáhuac consortium) in 2010, and in 2019 he finished his master in Commercial Law at The University of Melbourne, in Australia.
Since 2022, Andrés heads the Customs and International Trade practice in our Monterrey offices.
Recently, The Legal 500 has named him “Rising Star” in the Customs & International Trade practice.
