Bio
Iván joined Galicia Abogados in 2016 as a senior associate in the Administrative and Constitutional Litigation practice area. His work is focused on both ordinary and constitutional judicial proceedings against any type of legislative, judicial or administrative acts arising from federal, state or municipal authorities. The sectors/industries in which he has specialized have been: energy and infrastructure, environmental, urban development, financial, among others.
He worked from 2010 to 2015 as a litigation attorney in Chevez, Ruiz, Zamarripa y Cía. and previously he undertook an internship with the international litigation team of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs assigned to the Interamerican System of Human Rights.
Iván studied law at Universidad Panamericana (2011, Honorable Mention) and obtained a specialization degree on administrative law from the same university. He has a master’s degree (LL.M.) in International Legal Studies from the New York University School of Law, and a Diploma in Energy Law from the Escuela Libre de Derecho (2021). Recently he collaborated for the United Nations on a research project on constitutional law and he has obtained recognitions in international arbitration and international public law moot court competitions.
