Germán Fernández
Bio

Germán’s practice is focused primarily in project finance, infrastructure, public procurement and regulatory and administrative matters, with a particular expertise in the power, oil & gas, and petrochemicals sectors. He has participated in the development and financing of power, natural gas and oil projects, representing a broad variety of participants such as governmental agencies, lenders and developers.

He work includes legal advice in the acquisition and/or financing of power generation facilities, legal advice on several negotiation processes with both CFE (Comisión Federal de Electricidad) and Pemex (Petróleos Mexicanos), as well as legal advice to various clients who hold contracts for the exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons awarded by the National Hydrocarbons Commission.

Germán recently worked as foreign associate in Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, in Houston, Tx as part of their Latin America Practice Group with a focus on cross-border transactions, such as  mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and a variety of energy related transactions.

He received his law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in Mexico City (2010) where he graduated with honors and a Master of International Business from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Somerville, MA (2014).
