Ricardo joined Galicia Abogados in 2021. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, advising domestic and foreign clients, including private equity firms, in the structuring and execution of acquisitions, investments, joint ventures and divestments in various sectors, including e-commerce, retail, hospitality, education and marketing services and infrastructure, among other industries.
Ricardo has advised startups in the process of creation of corporate vehicles and in equity raising. In addition, he has advised venture capital firms in the establishment of investment vehicles to undertake their operations.
Prior to joining Galicia Abogados, Ricardo was part of Solórzano, Carvajal, González y Pérez-Correa, S.C. (SOLCARGO), specializing in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and private equity; in addition, Ricardo was part of White & Case, S.C., focusing his practice on mergers and acquisitions and antitrust and Mayer Brown México, S.C., specializing in mergers and acquisitions and private equity.
Ricardo was general counsel of Riogrande, a startup dedicated to acquiring and operating e-commerce brands and businesses, leading all legal aspects of Riogrande’s acquisitions and general matters of the business; Ricardo also led the legal efforts of Riogrande’s seed round and Series A round fundraising.
He has participated in publications, including: “Mechanisms to Prevent Hostile Takeovers in International and Mexican Stock Markets” published in the Law and Economics Review (Revisión Legal y Económica) of Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) (2016).
Ricardo obtained a Law Degree from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in 2019. Dissertation: Shareholder Agreements Related to Joint Venture Exits: Issues and Challenges.
